We will discuss only the two most popular categories of protein, whey and casein . Whey protein is mainly found in milk and is the fastest digesting protein, and because of that, it is the best protein to consume after a workout. Whey protein also has the highest value in BCAA's (Branched Chain Amino Acids), which are used for building and retaining muscle. Casein protein is also found mainly in milk, and is an extremely slow digesting protein, and because of this, it is best used before bed.
